Najib says non-Malays will not be sidelined in Perak

By YUEN MEI KENG

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has given his word that non-Malays in Perak will not be side-lined under the new Barisan Nasional-led government.

“I guarantee that the non-Malays will not be neglected (under the new government),” he told a press conference after attending the 44th South East Asia Central Banks Governor’s Conference at Bank Negara Malaysia.

“I have already told the new Mentri Besar Datuk Dr Zambry Abd Kadir that the Barisan government is for all races. The party will fight for everybody’s interests,” Najib said.

He was responding to claims that the Chinese community in Perak were worried that their welfare might not be looked into under the new leadership.

Najib was also confident that choosing Dr Zambry as the new leader of the state government was the right decision based on the latter’s experience in political administration.

“I have faith that he will fulfil the hopes and aspirations of the people in Perak, Insya-Allah,” he said, adding that the federal government would offer its full support to the state government.

Asked whether Barisan had plans to take over other states now that Perak was theirs, Najib laughed and said: “Tak adalah macam itu (It’s not like that). We will see how it goes.”

On Changkat Jering assemblyman Mohd Osman Jailu and Behrang assemblyman Jamaluddin Mohd Radzi joining Umno while facing corruption charges, Najib stressed that they were independent candidates and not Umno members.

“However, they are independent representatives who have pledged support to Barisan and that is an important principle,” he said, adding that the ruling coalition would not interfere with any court decision made on the assemblymen’s charges.

Asked to comment on whether fresh elections should be held in Perak, Najib said Barisan’s stand did not matter as it was the prerogative of the Perak Sultan under the Federal Constitution to call for polls.

He added that the Sultan was satisfied that Datuk Seri Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin had lost the majority in the state assembly and that Barisan respected the Ruler’s decision to appoint Dr Zambry to helm the government.

“Should there be any dispute on the appointment, the remedy will be going to court,” he said.

We were offered cash, claim Kedah PKR reps

ALOR SETAR: Two PKR assemblymen in Kedah claimed they were offered money to leave Pakatan Rakyat and become Independents after the March general election.

Lim Soo Nee (Kulim) and Tan Show Kang (Sidam) claimed that the offer of several millions of ringgit was made many times by the same man.

“The man last offered me money about a month ago. He offered a large sum of money to leave Pakatan Rakyat and become an Independent assemblyman. I do not know the man,” Tan told reporters at the official declaration ceremony of Pokok Sena as the state’s 12th district yesterday.

Lim said he was also offered a large sum of money but the man stopped making the offer after several months.

Lim and Tan said they reported the matter to the PKR headquarters.

Hee Bought Over by Barisan Nasional – The Corrupted Political Party

Well, is it not obvious?  She left Pakatan Rakyat because she didn’t get an exco position and she didn’t get a car.  Because of these two reasons, she left.  It shows that she needs money and power.  Who else could give her money and power ?  Well only Barisan Nasional who is corrupted would give her the money.  Now that she is contented with the money, she left Barisan Nasional.

For one fucking person to leave a party is ok.  But to cause the collapse of the Perak government is too much.  Mark my words, she will be targetted soon by people who do not like her.  She is so stupid to take this action of becoming an independent.  Many times we have hear of people getting killed over stupid mistakes and I believe she is going to get herself killed if some mad fella who is so sad over the fall of Perak becomes mad-der when he sees her.

Even now, people put up posters saying she is a traitor. Remember the goal keeper who accidentally scored a goal into his net?  When he got back to his country, he was shot.  This is how some people would react!  Hee, if you are reading this, from my kind heart, I ask you to please be careful.  I am NOT in anyway threatening you but I am just advising you.  I have seen and read how many people get killed because what they believed in and what they hoped for was taken away from them.  Just like the goal keeper incident that I just quoted.

My theory on why she left Pakatan Rakyat is that her balls (opps, she doesn’t have any… I meant boobs) were squeezed so tightly.  Wasn’t she involved in some corruption charges?  Well, BN must have told her, “hey, we have the judge and so if you want to clear yourself from corruption charges, just leave Pakatan Rakyat”.

Why then is our so called fucked up Anti-Corruption fucking Agency not doing anything?

Angry group protests at Hee’s centre

IPOH: News of Jelapang assemblyman Hee Yit Foong quitting the DAP to become an Independent has turned her into a target of harassment by Pakatan Rakyat supporters.

Around noon, a handful of DAP members and supporters turned up at Hee’s service centre along Jalan Simpang to put up a banner that reads: “Betrayer of Jelapang voters, Betrayer of Perak people” in several languages. The group left at about 12.30pm.

Meanwhile, there were rumours at about 4pm that Hee’s house had been broken into and that red paint had been splashed across her walls.

Clear target: The banner carrying the message from the Pakatan Rakyat supporters at Hee’s service centre in Ipoh Thursday.

A check on the residence, however, showed that the double-storey terrace house was intact with the doors and windows closed.

Hee’s official car, a Proton Perdana V6, was parked inside the locked compound.

Repeated attempts to contact Hee on her mobile phone and her house proved futile.

Najib Cannot Even Afford Nasi Lemak

Missing nasi lemak
February 04, 2009      Categories: News

Editors expecting a generous spread of nasi lemak, mee goreng and roti canai were disappointed at a breakfast meeting with Deputy Prime Minster Datuk Seri Najib Razak at his office in Putrajaya yesterday. For on their table were two saucers – one with local kuih and the other filled with two slices of ciku and some jambu air. Breakfast came with tea or coffee and mineral water.

“I want my nasi lemak,” cried an editor. But what was served was what he would get.

“Think Najib is showing the way to a healthier lifestyle?” asked another before Najib stepped in and started discussing the economy. Could this be a sign of the times?

72% say ‘ok’ sex scandals

98% say ‘no’ to corrupt leaders holding top govt posts

Tan Sri Ramon V. Navaratnam

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 3, 2009) : A whopping 98% of the people will not accept politicians involved in corruption holding a senior government post.

This was the finding of the Merdeka Centre for Opinion Research from a voter survey conducted between Dec 26, 2008 and Jan 2 this year.

The survey interviewed 1,018 randomly selected registered voters via telephone.

Transparency International Malaysia president Tan Sri Ramon V. Navaratnam said the findings confirmed TI-Malaysia’s perception that corruption is widespread in the country.

“This is borne out by the CPI (Corruption Perception Index) among other countries. Although the government has taken considerable steps to fight corruption, the negative perceptions will continue for several reasons,” he said.

Malaysia’s ranking on the CPI declined to 47 out of 180 countries in 2008, compared with 36 out of 91 countries in 2001 and 43 out of 179 countries in 2007.

Navaratnam said perceptions are hard to change in the short term, and public perception is that all measures have so far not been able to focus on the major culprits (perpetrators of corruption).

“The Merdeka survey hits the nail on the head and dismisses allegations that the CPI is not accurate enough. Unless more big fishes are caught, the perception will continue,” he added.

The survey also asked respondents for their views on the newly formed Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to replace the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA).

However, 57% of the Chinese and 50% of the Indian respondents said they were not confident of the commission.

Navaratnam said it is too soon to make a decision as the commission is in its early days. However, he urged the MACC to show it is different from ACA within the first 100 days.

“I urge the MACC to go to the root of all evil and charge and convict some big fish in order to show the difference, or else the public will regard MACC as ‘old hat’ and this is most unfortunate because opportunity given to MACC will be lost,” he said.

Navaratnam said he was confident of better results and performance from the MACC.

The survey also revealed that people can accept politicians involved in sex scandals appointed to senior government positions. About 72% of the respondents said they would not mind of leaders whose career has been tainted by such controversies.

With Money, the Police can Cover Up Corruption Cases for you says PKR

Police: No discrepancies in Balkis expenditure
Charles Ramendran

PETALING JAYA ( Feb 4, 2009) : A probe into a police report lodged against the Wives of Selangor Assemblymen and MPs Welfare and Charity Organisation (Balkis) in May last year over the alleged misuse of funds in its coffers on sports attire and other clothing for participants of an event found no discrepancies in the expenditure, according to police.

Selangor PKR Youth chief Khairul Anuar Ahmad Zainuddin said today police had sent a written reply on their findings last month to the complainant Mohd Ali Hanapiah Ali Murtada, who is the wing’s secretary.

Mohd Ali had lodged the report at the Shah Alam police station on May 25 last year urging police to probe a newspaper report that Balkis had spent RM279,000 on sports attire and batik clothing for its members and their husbands at an annual event for the wives of assemblymen in 2007.

Selangor Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim had also questioned the astronomical expenditure of Balkis at a state assembly sitting.

He said the letter, which was from a senior investigating officer from the federal police commercial crime department’s (CCID) corporate crimes division, stated that after a thorough probe into the report, police found no discrepancies or misappropriation in the purchase of the items.

The assistant superintendent of police who sent the letter on behalf of his boss CCID director Comm Datuk Koh Hong Sun had also said police will no longer pursue the case as investigations showed that Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd had paid for the merchandise and Balkis had only taken delivery of the items.

Khairul, however, expressed unhappiness with the findings of the police.

“This is a cover up and I can say the police have not carried out a comprehensive probe to come to this outcome,” he said.

He said he has yet to receive a reply from the police on another report lodged by his deputy, Hamsah Djabir, the same day against the previous state government for spending RM27 million of their allocation within two months.
